BAI Engages with Tai’an City

On 28–29 July 2025, the BAI delegation, led by Ambassador Alexandru Cujba, visited Tai’an City, Shandong Province, at the invitation of the Tai’an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, following earlier discussions held in Beijing. The visit focused on exploring practical applications of emerging technologies to support manufacturing enterprises in expanding internationally and strengthening their global competitiveness.

The BAI delegation was received by Mr. Wang Lijun, Deputy Mayor of Tai’an, together with Mr. Gao Chuanbo, Director of the Tai’an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Mr. Liu Yantao, Deputy Director of the Bureau. Discussions highlighted Tai’an’s strong industrial base – home to over 1,500 large-scale industrial enterprises, more than 1,300 foreign trade companies, and over 40 foreign-invested enterprises – and its growing role in sectors such as textiles and garments, electromechanical products, new materials, chemicals, machinery, and high-end equipment manufacturing. With trade links spanning over 200 countries and regions, the city is seeking to leverage advanced technologies to optimize export promotion, improve compliance management, and strengthen overseas market access.

BAI also participated in a roundtable organized by the Tai’an Municipal Bureau of Investment Promotion, bringing together representatives from seven key foreign trade enterprises as a first demonstration group. Company leaders shared their ambitions to expand into markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South America, while identifying common challenges: limited access to real-time policy and regulatory information, financing constraints, cross-border payment risks, certification costs, and supply chain inefficiencies. The discussion explored how AI-powered market intelligence tools, blockchain-based supply chain finance platforms, and digital compliance systems could help enterprises better understand legal, administrative, and cultural conditions in target markets, reduce operational risks, and enhance decision-making.

The proposed cooperation with this initial group of enterprises is intended to serve as a pilot model, paving the way for broader collaboration across Tai’an’s manufacturing ecosystem. By combining Tai’an’s strong industrial capacity with digital innovation, BAI aims to support enterprises in building more resilient, transparent, and globally connected business operations -demonstrating how practical technology solutions can empower manufacturing companies to achieve sustainable international growth.
